A unique approach, using the Biblical references...this was a very timely story.
Editing was good. The story could have been a little smoother, but it was worth reading.
Because I know the author's daughter, I decided to read this book. I thoroughly enjoyed the read. It's a fast moving, exciting book. The characters and storyline are quite credible, especially in today's world. I struggled putting the book down! I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys conspiracy/mystery type books. It's a winner. I look forward to the sequel.
I purchased this book on a recommendation from a friend. I started reading this last night about 11 pm and I couldn't put it down! The story line fully held my attention until the end. The plot was gripping with all of the twists and turns and the characters were believable and well developed. I am already looking forward to the next book!
My wife recommend cruel messenger to read and let me tell you it is real page turner. I hate vulgarity and there is no vulgarity on it what so ever. Mr. Tim Ayres please hurry and get the next book written. I can hardly wait. The ending could be improved. This is a five star book.
it was a nice easy read that included some good sculptural references without being overpowering or taking away from the story flow. I enjoy getting to know characters in the books I read. The character development was a little light for me but I look forward to learning more in the next installment. I found myself on a few occasions wondering how we suddenly got to a point in the story without any real trail other than fill in the blank spot. I enjoy using my imagination when i read but on these occasions it was distracting to fill in the backstory myself. Overall I enjoyed the book and will continue the series.
As you read this book, keep in mind one thing, and one thing only. It is FICTION! That being said, it is a wonderful, fast paced thriller/mystery well worth your time to read.
Sure, I doubt the fact that someone with dementia talks to King Solomon and her late husband, and I doubt the bible verses really helped solve the crimes, but hey, that is what makes for a great imagination and a great book!
An Afghani attack on a humanitarian group, subterfuge within the United States government and an unorthodox cop trying to solve the puzzle all coalesce in this fast-paced suspense book surprisingly free of any foul language. Has an unusual religious bent what with a dementia patient capable of receiving clues in the form of Proverbs, lite romance for those that enjoy and enough twists to keep me guessing as to what come next in book 2. A good book and I did like!
